When the original 3-speed shifter wore out and I couldn’t find the parts, I swapped in a four-speed. The car was equipped with 4 wheel drums, but I added power disks. I installed an Edelbrock Performer cam and intake manifold along with a Holly 650 double pumper. carb, but I have replaced it with a 350 V8 from a ’73 Firebird. It originally had a 250 OHC-6 w/factory 4bbl. Other goodies include line-lock, B&M shifter, Centerline mags, 4″ wheels up front, and 275 M&H’s on the rear. I have a 4.56 gear ratio (no long trips !!!) but a blast from light to light…with a turbo 400. The engine has a crane cam, headers, Holly 750 double-pumper, Roller-rockers, MSD 6AL & blaster coil, HEI distributor, and 3″ exhaust to dual Flowmasters with crosover tube. The car is painted black, all emblems have been shaved except for the 428 emblems. Hoping to someday have the time to install the following parts sitting around the house: Power Steering, Power Disk Brakes, Power Top, folding rear seat.
